Political Rhetoric

Georgetown + Obama + Religion

Personally, I find myself a little burnt out on the religion and politics dilemma, but this article was enlightening. Let me remind naysayers that part of any Faith is being open minded.

Yeah, I'm quite burnt out on the religion and politics thing too. I'm so sick of opening the student paper everyday to read something about the Obama non-troversy, or some ancient professor trying to explain that birth control is the root of all evil, lol.

Sex education & morality is what needs to be enforced. If the media is showing us sex... anyone with exposure to a television needs to be taught safe sex. Bottom line, all the birth control and scare tactics in the world won't help if young people have access to hip hop music videos/XXX porn sites. It's not fair for kids to be having kids.

You make a good point. I'm not against teaching "morality" per se, I'm just particularly sensitive to the boundary of teaching religion in public schools. And I definitely do not support censorship. But kids do need to be brought up to understand sex in its full context: safe sex, and also responsible sex.
