South Bend Obama Supporters Stay Positive

In lieu of President Obama's upcoming visit to Notre Dame, local supporters are gathering together to express their support. Members of the ND College Democrats spoke with organizers in April about what would be the best way to support the president, and this is what we all came up with (click to enlarge):

Basically, we felt that it would be best to stay positive and avoid partisanship. We wanted to avoid counterprotests or anything that would sink to the level of the Terrys and Keyes types. Operations are being headed up by Jennifer Peck. The group responsible has a facebook group to join if you'd like. I encourage everyone who is in South Bend and has free time to head to the organizing meeting tonight at 6pm. Details are below:

Dude are you still gonna be here? I want to get as many people together on this as we can.

Sadly, I had to go home. I wish you all the best of luck. Go make yourselves heard!

Yeah, kind of sucks that most of the students are already gone, but at least we were able to help shape the direction of the event by attending that meeting. I think it will be great. Such an awesome contrast to all the negativity of the radicals who will be protesting.

We need to get every media contact we have there for this.

I know a girl at the South Bend tribune.
