"Those congressional plans might cost $1.2 trillion to $1.6 trillion over ten years...one of the worst things about Mr Obama’s oddly hands-off approach to health reform is that he is concentrating on a symptom, not the underlying disease." - The Economsit, 25 June 2009

All this bill does it cover more people without combatting costs. It doesn't take rocket science to realize that if you cover more people at a high average price, the total price sky-rockets. It's easy to celebrate now...I wonder if you can do the same when our generation starts to foot the bill in a few yrs, though

Anonymous, kindly STFU.

None of you bastards complained about the cost of the Iraq War, which far exceeds the cost of this health care bill.

You don't care about passing on debt to our generation, you'd just rather do so for things that cause death, destruction, mayhem and corporate profits, as opposed to things that actually help the American people.

Hey, anonymous. It's a step in the right direction. True health care reform will have to come in bits pieces and it'll always be an uphill struggle. I'm content to celebrate a victory even if it's a small one.

As for the 1 person who voted no on our poll, I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt that he/she was assuming that health care would pass after 12 on Monday morning.

Haha, nice. yeah, I was just gloating. It probably was one of us who was slightly pessimistic about them actually getting done on time.

shamrocknroll: you're really alienating people who don't like reading such immature revelry. anonymous 1 is promoting debate. instead of responding with STFU, why don't you provide insight other than obnoxious generalized remarks?
I'm a dem through and through, but you're a hypocrite for mocking republicans in the manner you do. Nothing wrong with celebrating this great step forward for America. But people that don't realize it don't deserve to be unproductively put down.

Anonymous 2,

We respectfully ask that you use some kind of name as an identification when commenting, even if it is random. We have rescinded our anonymous commenting access in the past because of trolling and general confusion. I would hate to have to do that again.
